I think the first needs a bit more DoF to get the eyes AND nose in focus. Otherwise it's great. The expression in the second is wonderful.

I like the idea of the triptych. The view in the first section is the best - no distracting background - but it's a cute sequence overall.

What lens were you using?

and yeah, after I looked at it on the screen I wanted a tad more DOF on #1.

all were shot with the 85L.(borrowed from a friend) I've been playing a lot with it, and just when I think I have it down.....ohwell.
This DOF is so razor thin....I love it!! :)

Remember my sister's wedding next month? Rui's got 1 month to work on that depth of field! :)

I think you just need to focus on the eyes. DOF is a little thin, but it's fine to have the nose slightly out of focus. With pets it actually looks fine (I think), but you have to nail the eyes.

I want a puppy now! :-P

When he pulled out the 85L at AWE, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. Quite a piece of glass.

Now try shooting at eye level (without getting nose prints on the glass). That whole craned neck thing is cute on a few shots, but don't get carried away or the poor guy won't be able to sleep at night! :-P
