Was way the hell out in North Adams, MA, but it was a fun drive, and a great show.

Mostly shot with my 85 1.8 at around 1/45-1/60sec at f/2, and some with the 50 1.8 and the same settings. I hate using film for something like this cause I never know how it's going to come out exactly, but I think they turned out alright; only after the film was developed did I realize that I probably could've done upwards of 1/90sec on a bunch of the shots, which I would have preferred.

The colors are the best thing about those shots. Very bright and adds a lot of flavor to them!

I would like to try out my skills at a concert, but I don't know how to get started. Do you think you can get away with just a 50 f1.8 manual focus to get those kinds of shots?

What brand of camera are you using btw?

You'll need to be close.

You can point focus on key items, like microphones, and guitar pedals. Plus, you should be able to MF on band members, provided they aren't bouncing around.

everything Jus Plain Snoopy said applies. The hardest parts are holding the camera steady, and getting close enough to take the picture.

I'm using a Canon Rebel Ti film camera for now. I WAS waiting for the 30D, but it's not exactly what I was expecting.

in my pictures, I think only 5 and 6 were done with the 50 1.8 (I didn't really like how the others came out), but even as close as I was, it was almost at the end of it's useful range.

i wish the guitarist would've held still for me so I could take some clearer pictures.

Especially in digital with a 1.5x factor or so.
