Since I didn't get another 1 GB yet, I think I'll hop on this one.

They might release newer, faster, bigger cards, but I doubt you'll see these drop much more for a while. I jumped on one of these. Might throw up 2 1GB ultra II's up for sale once I get it. Says the ship date is end of Feb.

i think it's time to update!
i always try to reduce the risk, but with my 8MP + equip and now rummors of 35D with 10+MP jumping up maybe it's time to move to 2GB CFs

this was announced at the end of january. from what i've read, it's to keep up demand for their products amid increased competition &amp; a seasonaly soft Q1. good for the consumer, probably not so good for their margin

it was smart of Roberts Imaging to veil the sandisk price reductions as part of a "Valentine's day special"...i'm sure they did well since it seemed the news spread to any and every photo-related forum and deal website &amp; a lot of people jumped on it thinking that it was a limited-time offer

other retailers were slow to react and lost the potential sale to Roberts, though straglers are getting slightly better deals now as more retailers compete for customers :)
