So I was in San Francisco today, and was taking a few shots. I wanted to ask how do you guys take your city pictures without looking suspicous? I mean when you're taking interesting people pictures or maybe pics of homeless people, how do you do that without standing out? My roommate, who also is in photography, says that he does most of his pictures "shooting from the hip." He just estimates then snaps away. Thanks for any advice...

I take lots of pictures and don't act like I'm taking pictures of any one subject. I've never had anyone get mad or upset but I have had quite a few people come up and talk to me. If they ask why I'm taking pictures of them I just say that I am working on a college project. I don't really sell my people photos so I don't worry about a release form since nobody will see them anyway.

often helps a photo, but may not always be what you want.
