Build quality is very similar to the D2h in that it feels like you can't break it. The first thing I noticed when I took the body out of the box was how much heavier it is than the D70 even before putting the battery in. This can easily be attributed to the metal construction which was sparingly used in the D70. The rubber pad on the bottom of the camera is in line with the D2 series as well. It really does help with holding the camera in place on a tripod/bracket. Unlike the D70 there is no slippage and no need to overtighten the mount to keep it secure. I'll have more to post in a couple of weeks, since well I haven't shot much of anything with it yet. Oh! and the CF door release is no longer a part of the door or even next to the door, it's on the back of the camera which I find nice. Time will tell if this will be a weak point.
