I know the true cure is practice, but is there a good way to suppliment that:

-Weekend (or more) Workshops (mentorseries.com)
-Intensive workshops (Rocky Mountain School of Photography)
-On-line classes (New York Institute of Photography)

Thoughts?

I think structured classes are a great way to learn the basics of photography. Exposure, composition, equipment, etc. After that I think just a lot of practice and identify which areas you are strong in and which areas you may need some coaching on. See if you can self-learn from reading books or from other photographers. If that doesn't work then focus on workshops.
