I still haven't had a chance to go play with the new lens in any decent conditions. There is only good light downtown for maybe an hour every day this time of year, and being in the middle of finals doesn't help.

I got out to do a couple shots tonight, and also did a few test shots for sharpness. At 10 sec shutter speed and f16 I was getting some minor lens flare, but small enough to easily clone stamp out. I apologize for the crap image quality on the first shot, something in the jpg compression didn't work well. I'm very happy with the sharpness of this lens, as the bottom test shots shows (in the street shot, I think there was some minor camera shake that created a bit of blur). Keep in mind that stack of CDs was shot at f2.8(!!), and the lens should be even sharper past f4.

Sharpness looks pretty good on #2.
