<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/7832/mirror_pond.jpg"></center><p>Just messing around and I took this picture the other day in a somewhat low-light situation.

50mm f1.8, with ISO 100 speed film. Obviously no flash.

So I can color correct in PS so that the yellow color-cast isn't so strong. But I kinda like it. In fact, I usually like the softer yellow cast to most low-light photos, but that's just me.

Dunno if the picture-poster resized version tells you anything, but I don't have anywhere to host a larger one.

Thoughts?

Was there an actual yellow cast to the lighting when you were there? You could try two shots next time, one with a gray card to make a profile in PS to apply to the other.

yes, there was a slight yellow cast, but probably not that much.

I tend to like the yellow cast, as it feels 'warmer', even though it's not quite as 'realistic' as the actual scene.

recently I've switched some of my fixtures to GE Reveal bulbs. They have less red/yellow overcast and more of a natural look to my indoor pictures.

You like it. End of story.

My Dad has a whole mishmash assortment of different bulbs all over the house - mostly different temperature fluorescents. Getting a good white balance over there is quite a challenge. They're great for energy savings, not so much for photography, especially kids moving all over the place.

I have an Elan 7e.

And it was at my friend's house, so he controls the light bulbs =)

After seeing the yellow, though, that's actually the first thing I thought of as well.

maybe add a filter, but that's about it. Fix it in your computer later.
