is it too dark?

the sky loses the great coloring. I know you can somehow merge pictures so you get the best of both worlds, but I have no idea how to do that!

take the buildings from the second pic and the sky from the first, like this?

you'll have to play around with the "tonal width" slider and find the right setting that lets you brighten the buildings without changing the sky. The radius setting can also help change the look.
