Something like <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/info/16x20_canvas_print.jsp">shutterfly's option</a> I guess. Doing a quick google, it looks like there's a number of small shops that do it as well, plus a one or two other pic hosting/printing/etc sites.

Was looking at some canvas prints at Ikea (of all places...), that looked pretty cool, and figured if you can get your print on a coffee mug/mousepad/jigsaw puzzle/cake/cookie/shirt/etc, why not canvas? Paying a bit more for one of your own pics would be pretty nifty.

Example of an <a href="http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=12&productId=52062&langId=-1&parentCats=10109*10246">Ikea pic</a> (sort of small, but you get the gist - a canvas print stretched over a frame).

It looked really nice, a bit pricey, but they offer a lot of promotional coupons too. Give the demo a try.

reading over at dpreview, it was mentioned some kinko's do it. And then of course, there's the (overly) indepth discussions on the different types of printers/canvases/inks/etc for the DIY folks. I may just try a smaller canvas print from one of the more popular places mentioned there.

What I eventually want is a large-ish (~5'x2') beach pic. I found an image of the Ikea one I was talking about - it's not on their webstore, but <a href="http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/virtual_catalogue/catalog_splash2.html">here's</a> an online copy of their paper catalog in flash, and it's on page 319 (you can zoom in).

i used it for some abstract stuff, banners that were 56" x 10-15 feet. the canvas worked pretty well, but we later found a plastic media that worked much better for our needs.

if you're trying to mimic the look of a painting, i think you'll be dissapointed.

show me a specific image and I'll be a touch more helpful

different media form (as opposed to the usual print). With the texture of the fabric, you don't neccessarily need as high a quality pic (to an extent) for a largish print. Thinking mainly landscape type stuff.
