Need a new point and shoot. I want something more compact than my current Powershot S45, which does feature RAW, but its a touch too big to carry around every day.

I'm considering the SD400 and the S500. Both are 5mpx, and seem to be similar size. The primary differances are the display size, and memory type (SD400, 2 inch and SD mem, S500 1.5 inch and CF mem) While I like the idea of the slightly larger display, I'm not too keen about the memory issue. As it stands right now I own about 30 GB of CF memory, and the idea of buying SD memory (and cardreaders) doesn't excite me. On the other hand, it looks like the S500 is about to be, or just was, discontinued, while the SD400 is brand-spankin' new.

So what does AWPHOTO think?

Similar size, but greater ISO range. Same memory dilemma though.
