What a steal, even if it is used. That's $60 saved. No more deer in headlights flash photos. I also picked up an Omni-Bounce, better get those batteries charging. UPS says it will be at my door tomorrow, damn that's fast.

Any good online tutorials for using this flash?

What a world of difference from the pop-up. I'm going to try and do a portrait shoot with the little guy tomorrow. I shot these in JPEG mode with my 50mm f/1.8, tomorrow I'll shoot RAW.

Manual Mode
f/4.0
1/125s
200-400 ISO

Without the Omni-bounce the pic is fine, a touch bright, but not awful. With the Omni-bounce the pic is way under exposed. I know the flash looses about half the strength and it drops about 1 full stop, but how can I compensate with just a Drebel and no hack? I don't have FEC but I do have FEL, and it's only E-TTL. Do I need to meter with FEL before every shot? I'll just keep shooting and figure it out eventually.

TIA.

My Dad's Minolta 7D has a dial you can use to adjust the exposure compensation. Maybe it's in your manual?
