Hi I have a 2007 Audi Q7 and the breaks keep squeaking every time i put on the breaks(drives me crazy) . Brought it to the dealership they told me every things fine so you have to deal with it until Audi comes up with some type of recall for the problem. Does this sound right has anyone else experience this problem

Thanks

It seems a bit early for them to be worn down.. I am going in for service next week so I am sure they will want to change them or clean them.. not sure what will happen. My A4 2.0T changed them at 25k km..

So here is mine!
Once your brakes have been roasted even once (after they are run in), the surface of the pads harden. After a while they then polish the rotors surface. The squeaking is vibration between the two a bit like running your finger around the top of the wine glass.
You will find solutions like:
Removing the pads and sanding them with emory paper. It works but not for long.
Removing the retaining springs and tensioning them more. No thanks, even if it works.
Removing the rotors and having them resurfaced in engineering shop. This works but you might as well replace the pads to in this case. Remember what caused it in the first place can come back real quick as you still have the same materials.
Removing pads and applying graphite grease to the BACKS of them. Yeah it works but only short term and you get dust build up on the grease. i say avoid this one too!
Hose the whole show out in situe and leave for an hour for rust to appear on rotor then next braking wipes them clean and resurfaces both pads and rotors. Again once you change the surface you cant go back...that said mine get rusty here all the time due to wet conditions anyway.
Finally replace the pads with ceramic ones as they are softer and tend not to polish the same...just more expensive. I have no personal experience of these but would love to hear the pros and cons from anyone who has used them.

We just started having the same problem at about 12-13k miles. Dealer tells us nothing is wrong and brakes are fine. Claim not to even hear the noise which is the most upsetting part...
