Has anyone had any minor backfire on chipped A4's with Scorpion exaust? I get a very minor pop between 1st and second under mild acceleration. It does not happen at all under full throtle. It seems to be in the exaust end but is hard to tell. Any ideas?

Yeah mine back fires too. i have a Oettinger rear muffler and the stock resonator. when undergoing rapid down shifting it would pop like 2 or 3 times, very very fiant but i do hear it. this only occurs after i have accelerated hard and started to slow down while shifting into 3rd or second gear. it happens alot when i go from shifting out of 3rd in to second.

My 90Q with the Scorpion system does the same thing, but not all the time. Like yours, it unfortunately only does it under mild acceleration, and when downshifting. Since I usually drive with the pedal all the way down, it's not a frequent occurance on acceleration. I wish it would do it under full throttle too, because I think it's pretty cool. Just loud enough to be heard, but not obnoxious. All in all, I love the tone of the Scorpion system.
Charles
I have a Remus, and no resonator..
Mine will sound like a backfire when I let off the gas, and just barely touch it again... it's more like a "pop".. I was told it has to do with the fuel maps changing from vacuum to positive pressure... whatever..
I kinda like it... anyone know what it looks like from behind the car??
Rich Quinlan
Hoppen & Poppen 1.8tqms

Quinland
