Granted it has been nearly 100 degrees in Colorado for a few days, but my Q7 is NOT blowing cold air. I have to put in on LO just to get a breeze going. I think there is a problem... well I know there is. Just wondering if this has happened to anybody else and if so what was the ultimate issue?

I've got a 4.2 with 4 zone and panaramic roof. It seems like the Q has a tough time keeping the car cool on a hot sunny day. The air coming out of the vents is not nearly as cold as in other cars.

I do not have panorama roof... but drove Q7 back to back with my S4 and also my wife's Odyssey and the Q7 feels like it is blowing but not cold whatsoever.

Even on hot days, I'm surprised how quickly my A/C starts blowing cool air.

Put the AC on recirculate, and putting the rear on FAN lvl 12. I notice that when on low the rear only goes to 8 instead of level 12. My family was getting super hot in the 3rd (yes we use it.. so far it is great for my 2.75 year old.)

So in review settings are
FRONT:
lo-auto-recirc
Rear:
lo-fan level 12

This if for 4 zone climate control.

And FYI I complained about this to audi and they claim it is working within specs I am going to take to a specialized AC shop that checks the freon quality (they have special blends that are are more effective as well).

is it blowing and not cool ?

Our 2005 A6 had to have a new blower motor or blower motor controller, I forget which, but it was replaced shortly after we got it. The air was blowing at a reduced rate and not very cool. After this repair the air was ample for hot south Louisiana summers.

My Q7 4 Zone has been giving plenty of cool air on these past few warm days here in the swamps.

...4 zones synchronized, and the rear AC seems feeble. For example, with a synchronized 65 degree setting, the front AC blows lots of cool air, but the rear AC airflow is very low, although it is cool. Backseat passengers end up using the manual fan speed control to get good air flow - then it blows OK. Is this operating as designed, or is something broken??

A lot of people are saying this. Even on the Edmunds Insideline long term. They have the four zone, and here's the link. (scroll down 7 down)

http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests

We're in south florida, and the AC in the Q7 is simply not robust enough..... it takes a very long time to cool off the car...

we have to set the temp much lower than in our other cars.
