after one month, mmi started skipping...the system is not responding to any buttons, including reset. cd's as well as satelite radio, drop out every 3 seconds, navigation is down, and no adjustments can be made to the system. dealer said come back next week, as they only have 2 techs. that are cert. for Q7 mmi???

my Q7 s-line pics.

My Q7 is 7 months old and has been fine infact perfect apart from the PDC sensors loosing there paint then finally giving up and beeping randonmly.

So I took it the dealer and they had the car for the day but didn't actually do anything apart from order a whole new set of PDC sensors.

When the car was returned I started having MMI problems. Bascially the phone is no longer installed. Clicking on the phone button gives the message no telephone installed. The rest the MMI systems comes and goes. Some days everything is fine ( except the phone ) and other times nothing works. Yesterday I couldn't take the radio off mute so had no music on a 500mile road trip.
It's back in the shop Wednesday.

That will solve 80% of the problems. To reboot MMI hit the setup button, the mmi knob and the upper right hand corner MMI function button all at the same time. When you release all three buttons a SW reboot should start. You can look up SW reboot in your manual too as I'm typing from memory and may have described the process incorrectly = always refer to your manual...

As for the phone, try mating/pairing the phone manually again from your phone menu. The dealer may have reset your vehicle loosing your settings.

Good luck.

Si,
I am experiencing the same problems with the phone pairing as well, my adaptive suspension and transmission are also acting-up, the car will lower as if the rear loading has been activated, this happens while driving, and the manual shift paddles don't shift, there is no S mode. I am sure you tried to re-set the MMI, using the three button combo, it doesn't help me, every time I do it, the system seems to get worse. anyway in the shop Tuesday, will let you know the results, and good luck with your MMI on Wednesday.

has audi said anything about what is causing the MMI failure, and why they have your car for 3 days? did they give you a loaner car?

They are unable to communicate with the care system; they have to run some diagnostics. They said it should take few more days?
By the way this happen after the car would not accept a software upgrade (campaign 19 form Audi)
I do have a q7 loaner.

it sounds like I will be going down the same road as you...they want to do the software upgrade you mentioned, I went in tuesday to service, and requested a loaner, santa monica audi said they don't give loaners! so I left with my car, because nobody there seems to know what to do, and you know it is going to take more than 1 day in the shop to resolve the issues, I thought audi always gave loaners for anything that cant be done in 1 day, am I wrong? I hope you can resolve your MMI and get back your car! will keep posted if I get any other news, but first, maybe another service center, one that is not going to make me rent a car.

I've told the dealer I don't want to see the Q7 again until all problems are fixed even if they have to order parts that take weeks....I'm fed up with having the most expensive car I've ever bought and something not working after only being 6months old.

I'll keep ya updated

My issues started today. I picked mine up April 1st. The satellite radio, local radio, and ipod goes in and out intermittently and my phone won't connect. I was told to push 'tel', 'cursor', and the upper right button. This differs from everything else I am hearing on this forum.

I switched from an MDX to this Audi. The Audi is more of a drivers car, but it is the annoyances like this that need better quality assurance.
