My car came with them at 28 psi all round and always felt a bit bump thumpy.
The book says 42f 48r loaded (TDI) but its too hard.
I am running at 40f 45r but still feels a bit hard.
I know we are all on diff engines but curious Justhesame.

If you over inflate them you will notice tire wear in the middle, if you under inflate them you will see that they wear out on the outside. This considering you don't have any alignment issues.

FYI the standard for most tire shops is to pressurize tires to 36PSI on all 4 corners. They don't even bother to look inside the door for the

If you want to really want to figure out what tire pressure you can run tests that go according to your load weight. Which entails basically making an imprint of your tire.


But having said all that try reducing you current tire pressure by 3 psi :-)

basically there are too many variables with these cars.
Gonna try easing out that 3 PSI, see if it makes me happy.

Never had a car before that could take such a big range in pressure and balance.

...necessary to achieve the higher speed Z-rating. My USA Q 4.2 has all season Conti 20's, which have a lower speed H-rating and correspondingly softer rubber compound, and I have enjoyed a smooth stable ride.
But, air pressure is of course a major factor. Recently after a rotate/balance by my dealer, I noticed the ride had become quite bumpy. On checking pressures, I found the dealer had inflated the tires to 44 psi front, 49 psi rear as prescribed by Audi for a maximally loaded vehicle. When I lowered the pressures to 35 psi all around, per Audi for 3 passengers or less, the smooth ride and good handling returned.

Means a bad ride on bad roads. My uk spec s line a6 had a torrid time in Ireland. Big wheels look good though. The manual of my a6 advised full inflation at all times. Not good for your back. Air suspension on the q7 makes a big difference
