I've had my Q7 for not quite two months, and last week the driver's side headlight stopped working. I'd also been noticing an increase in the metallic and diesel sounding engine noise at start up so I called the dealer and they took the car in the same day and gave me a A4 loaner. That was last Friday.

I am still driving the loaner and the dealer is apparently waiting on a new headlight module. Is this a typical experience, to have to wait a week or more for parts to come in?

The service dept.'s response on the engine noise is...this is the first we've heard of this and we are looking into it.

I miss my Q7...

It is supposed to come in tomorrow and they hope to have the car back to me on Monday. He said they also replaced some "module" to address the engine issue, but he wouldn't elaborate and I wasnt in the mood to push him on it. I'll try and get more details when I get the Q7 back.

In the interim, the oil light came on the loaner A4 today, and that thing only has 2K miles....
