I am hoping to order a Lava Gray Pearl 4.2 Premium S-Line this month and had a few questions. Any help is appreciated.

1. I have heard conflicting reports of being about to switch out XM for Sirius and having it work with the MMI. One dealer told me he can do it, another said the MMI will not work with it. Can anyone confirm if this is possible on the newest Q7's?

2. What are the practical differences with the air suspension? Is it really worth it?

3. Anyone have comparison photos of a Q7 with the alcantara headliner and without?

... in less-than-perfect roads, especially with the 21" wheels, although with the 20" you can definitely feel a difference too.

Disclaimer: I'm in CA, so my definition of "less-than-perfect" is usually comparable to the rest of the country's idea of "horrible". :-)

With regards to the XM, it IS *possible* to connect an XM tuner to the MMI, however until somebody makes a drop-in replacement for the Audi Sirius module, it will be sound only and you will lose a lot of the cool integration features the MMI has with Sirius -- scrolling down the station names, getting the song and artist name, etc. You'll need a separate display and control.

The wife and I swapped XM and Sirius Modules between her Q and my A6.

I've found that you often get incorrect technical information from Audi dealers. Always best to inquire on this forum as you did. Just make sure you purchase an XM module from a Q7, A6 or A8 as the A3&A4 modules won't work.

P.S. I hate removing that D pillar panel to access the module though...!
