Has anyone considered it while looking at the Q7 or owned one? I know it is not in the same price range but would be interested to hear reactions. Test drove a 07 HSE yesterday and was amazed at the lack of power...

That said I believe it is quite a bit more than the similar Q7?

He's had numerous electrical problems in his first 6-mos of ownership.

I traded a 3.0l diesel Range Rover in for the Q7 3.0 diesel.

The Q7 is in a different league as far as performance and noise are concerned but the Range Rover is way ahead if used on rough or off-road. It is also easier to park because it is shorter and marginally narrower and has better visibility.
I have to say that in the 35000 miles that I had the Range Rover it was perfectly reliable and I had no problem with it. The Q7's wheel geometry is way out in front and one rear wheel.
The latest RR V8 diesel catches up on performance and refinement but it has a starting price of around UK£55,000 [$110,000 up to a fully loaded at $150,000]] while a fully loaded Q7 is about the same as the entry RR. My Q7 SE with MMI and a few bits and bobs came to £43000 [$86000] and the starting price is about £35000 [$70,000]

yesterday.
He was alone in HSE we were 4 up. He was pushing harder and harder and his eyes kept coming back to his mirror.
At one point it really looked ready to topple over. You could see his tyres were at there limit and he was getting whip back as he tried to flog his horses exiting each one.
Probably nostrils flaring as he saw four laughing faces in his mirror. We were well within our comfort zone.
I am sure it would be much better towing a double horse box accross a field...but I drive my car on the road!!

suck. My payments was going to be close to $300 more a month than my Q7. With about $5K difference in price. Plus, the RR was at sticker. They wouldn't budge off of it. The Q7 seems a bit slower than the RR Sport SC, but it's quite a bit faster than the HSE. Overall, I'm happy with my new vehicle.
