Remember that the Q7 is a very heavy car and if you drive with enthusiasm, especially fast into and around a corner, 'feathering' or outside front tire wear will occur faster than normal.

From my track days with the M3, you see this on all cars, all the time no matter what tires you have. You can reduce this by doing most of you breaking before a corner. As they say at racing school, 'slow-in, fast-out'

Sounds like you've been enoying your car though...

Have fun.

these are very heavy cars. i carry at least 39. 41 might be even better.

36/35 seems way too low.

These cars seem to be coming out of the factory with faulty wheel geometry. My two front tyres were baddly worn and castelled on the outer edges by 3000 miles while the centre of both tyres had not worn the mold plips off. At this point I increased the pressure in the 18" 255's to 40psi all around and swapped back to front. Still wears unacceptably and now at 6000 miles.

At the 3000 mile mark I noticed also that one rear tyre was also wearing on the outside. Not good.

Don't anyone tell me that this is normal. It is not. I've had plenty of cars, some with wider and lower profile tyres than this one and wear is always even. Having said that, I would say that around seven out of ten new cars I have owned have been way out in at least the tracking and some, such as Nissan Terrano's, my Land Cruiser 100 series and others have been out in other geometrical aspects. Even my last X5 was out at the front. The similar Range Rover was absolutely spot-on correct from the factory though. Luck or what?
Anyhow, one fine day I shall have to take my Q7 in for a four wheel alignment before the cost of tyres kills my enjoyment of an otherwise splendid vehicle

Mine just ticked over 11k miles and have just ordered 4 new ones.

Don't drive particuarly hard so me guesses 10-13k is gonna be about the limit.
