I thought the Q 7 had the same parking light feature as BMW, that using the turn indicator switch when the engine is off it turns the front and back position lights on(in one side) to warn other drivers your car is parked in a bad spot at night. I am not sure if I lost this with the MMI upgrade last Dec.
Anybody is aware of it?

As I have it on our Touareg but not on our Q7. Just as Jusforfun said, the EU models have it so I am hoping it can be VAG'd on but so far no one has figured it out. :(

I do not know if you can change anything.

I did get the coding that is used on UK spec cars and the only thing that differs was the 1st and last digit. The first digit is likely because I have steering column memory whereas the other person does not.

Changing the coding of the last digit from 3 (US) to 1 (ROW) might work, but will probably only have the effect of turning off the amber 'parking lights' (some people call them city lights).

That's the first thing I'll try, but I suspect that feature is actually stored in one of the adaptation channels. In my Touareg I had vagged the central control from 3 -> 1 to disable my ambers. Making this change had no bearing on the side parking lights you're talking about.
