Went to look at my Q7 today. Won't get delivery until Monday. I *have* to figure out how to get an ashtray in the front. Also got XM satellite radio because I ordered this vehicle on Feb. 14th while XM was still available.

The ashtray is shown in all the Q7 marketing literature, with no disclaimer that it is optional. Your dealer can order and install the ashtray parts (- the wood cover is the important cosmetic part). If there is resistance to this, then make it known that the missing ashtray will color your dealer ratings on the customer satisfaction survey you will receive from Audi.

Finally - a 6-seat combination. Looks great! Thank you for the pictures. How is the rear console? Is it solid? 2 cupholders? Are the rear seats as comfortable as the front seats?

A puzzlement - my quartz gray Q7 has ugly light colored lower body panels, while your Condor gray looks like the panels are body colored. What gives?

They are not body colored, but I guess they match better with the Condor Grey. I have seen a variety of lower body panels on different colors. I have no idea what Audi is thinking nowadays.

I called Audi customer service yesterday and the representative was very nice. She said she would call me back by Tuesday with an answer. I told her that I knew that other Q7 customers had finally been able to receive an ashtray, so hopefully I will get one. I asked the dealer (salesman) what he was going to do on his end to fulfill this requirement and he just looked mystified. I will be withholding my review until I get it resolved. Good suggestion!
The dealer also told me that my trade-in value had gone down $2,000 since we made our deal in February. I was angry (the mileage increase since then was only about 1,000 miles). We finally agreed to a $1,000 reduction in trade-in value. They told me that they are no longer going to estimate a trade on an ordered car. Too bad for them. I may have been able to get the entire $2,000, but it was just a little post-it note in their handwriting which I had saved - not on the order form.
