I have 2 questions about the usage of the GPS :

1. Is it possible to store the current position of the vehicle as new entry in the address book ?

2. Is a list with the traffic symbols (which appear on the map) available ?

Thx.

1. didnt find an option to "capture" current position.

2. most of the symbols are typical map symbols and I found them easy to understand... Surprised the manual doesnt have that info :!

Overall I found the satnav pretty clunky for such an "advance" car. Seems that the A6 unit that been out a few years now has been passed over to in q7 sibling.

The system seems to have a wealth of "information" such as "petrol" stations - however there didnt seem any joined up and easy manner to "take" a detour via the petrol station on route. All far too complex to consider trying to figure when to turn off for non motorway petrol stations...

We used ours to get us right to the hotel door we were going too - and found the "hotel" sub topic was great help - but the "wheel input" for alphabet ensured we just went to list and scrolled to the hotel we wanted. This was done whilst vehicle was stationary btw.

Just checked out the latest satnav/speed camera system - approx ?250 - and it also gives speed advisement on any camera/danger/school - its updated from the internet - and is bang up to date... I wish the Q7 was up to date on this too...

1. Found a way to capture the current position. I' ll try to explain it in my best (Flemish) English :
- choose the map view
- ENTER (central knob)
- turn until you reach the 4 arrows icon on the bottom of the menu on the right of the map
- ENTER to show the guidelines
- ENTER again pops up a menu from which you can store the current position.

An option in the menu - Store current vehicle position (as exists in the X5 GPS) would have been much easier.

2. The symbols for special destinations as restaurants, parkings, casino's, ... can be viewed under Nav-Setup-Content.
The symbols which are not shown there and neither can be found in the manuals are the current traffic symbols (TMC) like accident, road blocked, animals on the road, ... Sometimes these appear in red, sometimes in gray.

Sorry, but I'll write some dutch.
