Had Audi Customer service respond to several inconsistencies I have found in the marketing materials and owners manual.
For US models there is no tilt sensors or internal motion sensors, even though it's in my owners manual.
There is no ski bag on US models, even though it is listed in the brochure.
Audi said that since these two above items were not listed in the "official specs" they could change config at any time.
I said ok but...since you have now given me a copy of the "official" specs, the specs say I should have a "luggage net" standard with my Q7 prem. and I should get 6 months free Sirius sat radio. I had no luggage net and my free subscription was only for 3 months.
Audi says ok, you will get the net and we'll extend the subscription for the full six months.
So the moral of the story...you can't have your specs and delete it too!
Hope all you Q7 premium drivers in the USA get your luggage net and six months service!

Kirk - Have you been going thru your dealer on all this, or thru Audi USA (corporate)? I would like to pursue some of these items as well.
Also, did you receive any sort of acknowledgement of purchase from Audi USA? In my case, I've received absolutely nothing. I expected to see some kind of thank you letter or extended warranty offers or some other promotional material, but I've gotten absolutely nothing. It's not that I want junk mail from Audi, I just want to make sure I'm in their database for recall or safety bulletins, etc. Interestingly, I do keep getting e-mail offers from some spambot asking me if I'd like to test drive a Q7. Ironic stuff, given that I bought mine in Feb and took delivery in June.

I first try the dealer. Then Auditalk. Auidtalk had customer care contact me. Customer care wants the dealer to make things right but when it comes to missing items....Audi's Director of Electronics sent me my Nav DVD personnally, because mine didn't come with the car, and the dealer "was at Audi's mercy to replace it". The dealer did replace a missing tool from the toolkit. I have yet to get any paperwork on my free maintenance package. The spec sheet which identified the luggage net and six months of Sirius came from the dealer but it was dated less than two weeks ago so I'm confident it is a dealer available database. Customer care has opened a case file on my missing items and delays. Things seem to happen quicker when they got involved.
Also, like you, I have received no communication from Audi (other than what I stated above, and only after I initiated the call) since taking deleivery on 7/31. I must be in some kind of data base however because I received the JD Power survey this week.
Did you get the free maintenance package paperwork yet?

you haven't even listed half the items listed and not in the vehicle - a squeeky wheel gets the grease - I received 1 year free sirius; racks; full tints sunroof/windows; and a cover for the ashtray from Germany - but you have to go loud.

Nope, I received nothing from Audi corporate on my free maintenance entitlement. However, I did make the dealer send me an e-mail that explicitly stated that I would be getting the free maintenance. I did that quite a while ago, figuring that the free maintenance deal would somehow be "forgotten" come maintenance time. One problem is that there's nothing explict out there that describes what's included in free maintenace and what's not. Maybe there's something describing the maintenance program that you can now pay for, but they could change that at any time. Maybe they already have. I must say that Audi's communications have been amateur at best. Mercedes (prior vehicle) was much better, but MUCH more importantly, so far, I am finding the quality of my Audi to be light years ahead of MB. Ultimately vehicle quality is what matters most, so if I'm forced to choose, I'll take vehicle quality over corporate slickness any day.

Speaking of standard options, I thought the 4.2 Q7s were supposed to come w/ heated seats?
Or, maybe mine has it and I just don't know where it is! ;-)

My dealer informed me today that Audi says my car was not one of the first 1000 orders and is not eligible for the free maintenance program. I ordered on 4/11 and had the "free maintenance" notated on my sales order. The dealer is going to purchase it and foot the bill. This is the right thing for them to do or frankly it would have been war!
