Has anyone else experienced a balky rear hatch, mine occasionally will only open a couple of inches and then gets stuck. This happens both with the key and opening manually. One time it persisted through multiple attempts at locking and unlocking and other times simply closing and relocking the car solves the problem.

I suspected the lid would be balky, but so far, I've never had a problem with it. When I open it using the remote key fob button, I have to hold it down for seemingly too long, but I think that the delay is programmed into it to avoid inadvertent opening of the hatch if the wrong button is pushed.

I've seen same problem on the car we had for an extended load...

There were a couple of times when it was loaded I needed to put pressure on it when it was locking to complete the "electric" locking.

On other occassions the lid didnt lift and I had to close and try again.

Also had a moment when my son almost got squashed by the rear gate - and it didnt seem to be to keen on stopping for him...

Tried with my hand later and didnt seem to be able to stop it... or get it to return for safety...

My brother had the same issue, but from what I believe it had to do something with the hitch mounted or not, and/or being in towing mode or not.
