Very nice. Any pics of the interior would be appreciated. Is the headliner black? Are these tires the "performance" tires (Goodyear)? I am waiting for a Lava Gray S-Line in the US, but I will not see it until November! I believe that the US version will not have sport seats, and it may not have the black headliner. I still have not seen an official spec sheet from Audi USA listing a black headliner for the S-Line version. Can anybody confirm one way or the other?

I'm not counting on us in the US having those S-Line seats, nor the black headliner. The fact that he's got ash tray/cover which is probably only $15 cost, leads me to believe the US will be missing out on that cover in addition to the black headliner, in addition to the extra cost sports seats.

I don't think that the US version of the S Line will be as extensive as that of the European version, but the ashtray cover would be nice. The first batch of US S Line Q7s should be arriving soon! So we will know one way or another shortly.

I cant understand the designer on the cupholders in that arm rest!! its just butt ugly - and no where as "complete" as the finish in a8 or a6...

The comfort arm rest is worse - as it has the cupholder right in the place where front passenger rests their arm.

my father in law bitched about it when we had a long trip in a q7 recently...

What kind of mileage have you been getting on your TDI? Make us Americans, well at least me, jealous.

I have driven 5000 km now with my Q7 Tdi. The consumption is 9,5 l/100 km. ( mixed city/freeway ) I don*t know how much that is in gallons and miles. :o)

Using the UK version of the units 31mpg unfortunately only converts to about 26 mpg (US).
(and 25 mpg (UK) to 20 mpg (US))

TLo's 9.5 l/km would translate to about 25 mpg (US)

How big is the tank? (let's do it in liters as to avoid some confusion).

Whether it's 20-25 mpg US, or better, it's still an improvement, both in mileage per gallon over gas, and in lower cost per gallon. While I would have liked to have heard/seen even higher diesel mileage, I shouldn't forget that it is a large vehicle, and it is a performance vehicle. That diesel mileage sounds awfully tempting to me. Don't forget, it's still in its breaking in period.

Thanks for the good news.

That is the point at which the father-in-law should be asked to sit in the third row seats. After such an experience, he will never again complain about the front row!! :o)

Wow, that would give an approximate range of 1050 km or 650 miles (US)!
That is awesome!

Personally, I'm not _that_ interested in diesel just because of the economy of it. I want greater range, I'm sick of pumping fuel in the car so often. 650 miles would be just awesome.

True, it's a vast improvment over the gasser... still 25 mpg is a pretty decent improvment over 20 mpg.

Either way, 20 mpg is still good for such a large vehicle. And like pointed out.. Diesels tend to improve their efficiency as they get more broken in.

I do want that diesel too. I would like even more to see the Q7 with the 4.2 TDI here in the US. But alas I think we will only see the 3.0 for some time. If that does good then maybe we'll se more options.
