I am waiting for delivery of my 07 A8L, should be arriving by October. I was so impressed with the A8's quieteness in while driving at higher speeds. I also ordered dual pane so it should even be quieter.

My question. I have been driving my wifes Cayenne S the last couple of days, and have been very iritated by the amount of wind noise at speed. I have yet to test the Q7, but how has been your experience with interior noise at speed? Is dual pane available for the Q7? What seat configurations are most of these being shipped out from the factory?

Thank you.

The noise level in our Q7 is pretty quiet. Then again, my car only has 700 miles on it at the moment.

Congrats on your pending A8.

I should say it is a very quiet car compared with the X5. Especially at speed which you would not drive in the us (+180 km/h).
The speedometer surprised me quit often while driving in Germany.
Of course, an SUV will always have to move more air aside than an A8. So I guess the A8 will be more quiet.
Congrats on your pending A8.

I spent about half an hour on a motorway behind a BMW M5 and I had to keep changing lanes to get away from the noise of "his" tyres jetting. That must tell you something.

I've had the Q7 for about 3 months and have 5,000 miles on it already. The car was at first pretty quiet, but now I'm getting a droning noise. Perhaps it may be the tires wearing, (I have the 20" continental) I traded in the Cayenne S for the Q7, and I feel the nosie level is comparable between the two cars, and they are dfinitely not as quiet as an A8. If you're looksing for quietness I don't think the Q7 is it.
