On our trip back from Italy and Switzerland we lost our doorlock at the left back door. The "fixed" part behind the handle to open the door, "flied" away on the highway in Germany.

We didn't hit anything, we didn't hear anything, ...
Between two stops for fueling it happenend. I should say we cruised at high speeds (avg was around 140 km/h on whole trip, usual speeds between 170-190 km/h, with tops of + 210 km/h).

The dealer ordered a new piece, which should be painted, ...
So now I'm driving around with a tape to hold my doorhandle.

I hope this is really the last thing after Xenon-light failure (not the bulb, but something more complicated), servo-steering failure (belt broke), ...

Hoi Pierre...
I have my Q7 since March and I had no problems at all with my Q7. I also had a long trip for our summer holidays and everything went ok with the Q7... You don't seem to be very lucky...
Have you found a solution for the DVD player ?

Hi Mitch,

No, not that much luck till now, but I should say I'm still impressed with the car. Driving at high speeds surely has a plus compared to the X5.
Only the tires (Bridgestones) seems to suffer very easily from aquaplanning. My dad has the Goodyear Eagles F1 and they seem to be better.
DVD solution : integrated system which can be coupled later on to the Dension Ice link and the MMI.

As I posted before. It was never very well fixed in place and it only lasted two motorway trips. I keep looking every time I pass where it happened but cant see it. As far as I am concerned this is an Audi problem not mine.
