Had to wait six months because of the open sky option. After driving around for a week and reading 600 (!) pages of documentation there is only one conclusion : this is an incredible machine.

Lava gray 3.0 TDI with 20" dual spoke rims. It came with Goodyear Eagle F1 G3-DS summer tires mounted. On the German accessory list a 20" winter tire option is available. Does anyone know more about this ?

Nice feature : you can put the windscreen wipers in service mode.

Interior : Verano beige leather - Tamo wood - velvet (no Fresko) carpet

The kids love the open sky (and me to).

The CD Changer supports CD Text as you can see. It does not read MP3s. My car was produced july 20th.

... when choosing Verano beige. Two had velvet carpet and two had Fresco, each combined with two dashboard colors.

congrats on your new Q7.

Quick question: How did you get the CD to list the CD Text as your last picture shows? I looked at the manual (page 66, I think) and did what it said to do, but I still can't get my CDs to read. Thanks for any information.

Most commercial CDs (at least in USA) do not have any CD Text info on them. If you make your own copies using burning S/W then you can add it. Most CD copying SW will allow you to get the CD text info from a database like Gracenotes. If not, then you can add it manually. Personally, what I did was to make my own CDs from my vast collection of songs in iTunes. That way the CD Text is handled by iTunes. Works great.

I copied the CD using NTI CD&DVD Maker (but most burning software includes this option) and choose to include CD Text while writing the disc. The program reads the track titles etc. from the internet.

Most audio CD's you can buy don't include CD Text.
Because it's always a good idea to keep you're orignals at home you can add the CD Text on your copy.

Congrats on the new car. I have the same setup ordered for Australia. The Lava Grey looks great. We went for the black interior, ( 3 messy kids + 1 dog). Due here later this year. Interested in your feedback after a few thousand km.

Got my car for 3 weeks now and drove more than 3000 km.
I drove from Belgium via Germany all the way to the Austrian Alps. Did test my car on several mountain roads (Grossglockner, ...) and for such a heavy weight it is incredible how fast it climbs. Also the intelligence of the automatic transmission is fantastic. When descending it automatic switches to a lower gear.

On the German highway I drove 180 km/h and more without any problem, even in rainy conditions. The car lowers itself when driving 160 km/h for a while but you don't notice this inside.

About the gadgets: it seems everything functions as it should. I only had some problems with the GPS map (see seperate thread).

About the documentation : very well done. I think you can find nearly everything in it, except one thing : the traffic symbols used on the map. Does anyone know where to find these ?
