Anyone know if the new 4.2 FSI V8 has 40 valves (five per cylinder) or 32? It's difficult to tell in the picture, but it looks like four valves per cylinder.

http://gallery.audiworld.com/gallery/album40/Q7060090?full=1</a

FSI is 4V per cylinder as 5V per cylinder is too big for the cylidners with FSI.

The injector takes up too much room for the 5valve head. Audi is phasing out it's 5 valve engine line. I believe only the 4.2 in the S4/A6/A8 and the 1.8t in the TT are the only engines that still use the 5 valve design. The 2.0t, 3.2V6 (3.2 VR6 is also 4 valve but it's a VW engine of a different family) 4.2 and 5.2 fsi engines are all 4 valves.
