With gas prices hovering at $2.50-$3.00, now is distinctly *not* the time to be buying an SUV. I think Audi really screwed up introducing the Q7 in middle of the SUV backlash (or at least the major SUV re-think by many car shoppers).
Granted there will always be people out there who can afford a $50K car plus $60 to fill up the tank. Despite a healthy income, I'm just not one of them :) Maybe Q7 drivers will get a break if drilling in the ANWR brings gas prices back down. Anything's worth it for a Q7, right?
Personally, I think the A4 2.0T gets it exactly right: outstanding performance: both acceleration and gas mileage. I took an A4 2.0TQS manual for a test drive and was hooked!

My A4 2.8QSTip
