Just wondering... inching up on my 5k oil change with RLI Biosyn HD SHP 5w40 to do a UOA (with no oil topped off & at the low line on the dipstick) by terry dyson himself.

So how much oil everyone else gets every 5k?

Mine is about 1 qt.

Using Castrol Syntec 5w40 is 1 qt every 5,000 miles.
Using Total/Elf 504/507 5w30 is 1 qt every 2,500 miles.

I was hoping lower NOACK of the RLI plus the BSH Front PCV fix would reduce my oil consumption-- but of course, the fuel dilution....

If I could get my oil consumption down to 1 qt every 10,000 miles, I'll be a happy man.

Maybe you should send a sample to blackstone and have a look at what's going on with the oil.

Based on the Fuel Dilution, some are considering the 5k change interval.<ul><li><a href="http://www.blackstone-labs.com/gas_engines.html">Blackstone Labs</a></li></ul>

I have been doing 5k changes (at 35k now)

Recently switched to RLI Biosyn SHP HD 5w40, based on the data from RI RS4. Showing how crappy VW-spec oils do. The worst is VW 504/507 oils in my experience. I was going to use Amsoil diesel 5w40, then got drawn into the RLI lubes.

Blackstone Labs doesn't seem to do as a complete job.

I'm sticking to Dyson himself, yes it costs more (and not the Blackstone-Dyson deal), but he does a more thorough job.
