View Full Version : Compared to an MC swap in a 4kq, How much difference with an MC into a CQ? Blake@NWAutoSalon 06-06-2005, 07:19 AM Just exploring my possibilities...Opinions please audifreakjim 06-06-2005, 02:20 PM Off the top of my head, you'll use the MC FW and clutch on the 4k. The 4k is a little more cramped up front for IC fitting, especially compared to a coupe with an RS2 bumper on it. If you're using the coupe, for the love of god use EFI. I'm usually not to picky about stuff like this, but for some reason this gets to me. The 4kq will always be faster because it's lighter, plus it has the locking center diff which is awesome on the track. You could always put the locker in the coupe. I just did this, it's not to bad, the shifter is the hardest part. Blake@NWAutoSalon 06-06-2005, 04:07 PM I am thinking about not putting the MC-2 into the 4kq but into the CQ :-) Maybe we should exchange some emails? cuatrokoop 06-08-2005, 08:10 AM I emailed you a couple days ago, SUPER busy at work, plus as Zzak said, the 5kq decided to puke it's pilot bearing which locked the trans and engine together, so it's all apart right now... If you have more questions let me know! Blake@NWAutoSalon 06-08-2005, 12:06 PM I think the 7A will be out of my car very soon after graduation and right now I am trying to locate an MC-2 ECU cause thats all I will need before I buy the donor 200 cuatrokoop 06-08-2005, 05:27 PM Does the donor have a bum MAC-14??? Semple or some other guys should have a MAC-14 'puter kicking around. Blake@NWAutoSalon 06-09-2005, 07:16 AM I might have to do it, but I am only going to be paying 125$ for my MC-2 with 140k on it. (without an ECU of course). I might have to justify spending 100 on an ecu plus another 175 to have it chipped, but I would much rather use an Mac11 and get that chipped for 75$ making the whole thing cheaper. |
