It appears that the Hitachi ISV on my 90 20VQ has a dead solenoid/screw motor. Will a later Bosch unit interchange directly? Does any other ISV use the same solenoid.

As far as putting in a later Bosch unit, I don't know, never tried it.

Looks like it might be an Escort. Tried to open Audifans, but this link below was probably a deleted listing. The ad is incomplete "Cougar, Cabriolet, CQ, 4000" have a bolt pattern in common. The ad might be for wheels.

It's driving me nuts, I know somebody recently posted a picture of a Ford ISV that looks 100% identical to the 7A Hitachi. I think that post must have been deleted, I can't find it anywhere. I've searched here, vwvortex, and motorgeek - I think it was at motorgeek but not sure.

when I tried to enlarge it the part number became too fuzzy to read. Since the websites are foreign we might want to think in terms of Ford "World Cars" like Escort. I wonder if any of them used CIS.

Got to put in a little JY time today. I looked under the hood of quite a few Fords today, Mustangs, Escort, Focus, Probe. None had an ISV with the three bolt mount. All were two bolt and none looked like the Hitachi unit.

IIRC, the web site that mentions them is Australian. I wonder what they mean by "Ford" in that part of the world.

I think I saw it on Vortex once. I have to find this thing... lets pool together here and get the low-down

After much debate on wether Ford actually offered an exact replacement ISV from Hitachi and a picture floating around the forums, I have confirmed this is the exact model we have in our 20V's!

The Ford idle valve is only available in Australia. It was fitted to the Ford Falcon XF six cylinder. The part number is XF9F715A. Apparently these are available for $170 AU, which works out to something like $130.61 US, BRAND NEW.

I think I might buy 10 of these things HAHA. Hope you all enjoy :)
