seriously, sounds like I got a jet engine under the hood. I posted this on the 4k/CGT forum but figured I may get more variety of people on here. I've narrowed it down to timing belt tenisioner, water pump, power steering pump or altenator.

What do you guys think? The engine runs strong and there is no hesitation. Noise goes away once it warms up or if I give it gas.

http://home.comcast.net/~paulo.mendes/Picture_005.mpg</a

putting your ear to a screwdriver and listening for the sound directly while the car idles?

My guess would be the hydraulic (steering) pump. Test it by turning the wheels with the car idling and parked. If the pump is weak it'll squeel more.

Water pumps typically rattle, but someone might have had one squeel.

I've never personally heard an alternator squeel like that.

If the noise goes away when the car is warmed up, could you have a squeeling belt?
