So everyone knows (or atleast has heard of) how when a 20v 7A motor is down revving (like, rev it and let it drop back to idle) the distributer rattles a touch around 1500rpm... Well For the past 2 nights its been rattling kinda at idle (not a constant rattle, more like short bursts of rattling so itd sound like a tap tap tap tap).
It was a cold night... unusually cold... a slight breeze froze my finger tips blowing from the west.... Power locks slowly lift letting me into the car... She starts... she purrs... Her usuall greeting. Then, out of the blue, like heroshima being dropped.... the car shuts off. I try to restart but to no avail. Pop the hood, pull my distributer cap off... bow that rotor sure has some play in it... about a quarter turn of the radius to be exact... Have a bud crank it over as I watch the rotor... no spinny... hmm... maybe my timing belt snapped. Take the oil cap off... no the cams still spin... bye bye distributer..... you served me well..... may the car gods charish you and put you to good use in car haven (or as Ide liek to call it, the trunk of my 90 until im not lazy n clean my car out to throw it away)
