10v 20v???
cross flow?

A 10V cross flow would be interesting and could be a nifty upgrade for the I5 peoples.

they are dropping the 5v motors so they can add the FSI. If they make it a 10v motor, it's kinda stupid, they work for all these years on great multivalve motors then go back to the 80's?? (no offense to the 10v guys...)

that wold be a nice cyl head or engine to acquire then... and they will be plentiful soon as most jettas are pretty base models. Hell the engines will be a nice cheap way to drop a virtually new engine with efi into older audis. Plus if there is tuning potential (which there always is) the new 2.5 I5 will be an interesting swap me thinks.

VAG up to it's old tricks (1.8 16v -> 3.6 32v)

since the VR6 motor is a 15degree narrow angle, it's more of a inline than a v motor. V5s have been out for years in europe, but never made it over here.

They have the AMA winning R51 which is a v5(streetbike). it revs to 12,000 and has all sorts of torque. They say it is even as smooth as the inline fours. has two cylinders up from and three in the back.

I wanna say its just a 1000cc too, but i'll have to check my stuff first...

that would be an awesome alternative to a turbo car

and why is the displacement 2.5L rather than 2.3?

Primarily to just get the IM on the opposite side of the head as the EM and turbo. Otherwise, no major point.

the the gallardo engine works why not save your self the money and use the design insted of a re-design.
