hi,Im in need of details of the audi 1996 alloy 4.2 v8 engine, I need the dimensions all round height ,width etc Im I right in thinking this engine is transverse mounted in the audis ,Im hoping to do an engine swap soon hope theres someone out there that can help cheers...

All Audi's except TT and A3 (or A2 and old 50 models in Europe) are longitudinal (front to back), so if you want transverse, you need to look at those two Audi's, VW's other than Passats and Dashers (none are V8's though), or other transverse V8's like the Taurus (Yamaha) SHO or the Northstars used in Caddy STS's and similar cars.
