I've had the following settings in place for 3 weeks and the results are below:

+100 RPM on Ch1 Idle speed offset
103% on Ch2 Fuel Tweak (accel pump) increasing loads
100KMh on ch 7 Additive offset to speed limiter (this will be fun to test)
+1.5 Degrees on Ch9 (Ignition timing offset)
.195% on Ch 10 (Primary fuel tweak)
+5 on Ch 14 Idle Torque additive offset

The biggest difference is in responsiveness at part throttle when the car is already moving. Scenarios like when you are in traffic and coasting along and then dip into it when it's moving again. Feels much better in that aspect.

Acceleration is improved, and perceivable immediately after the change but not night and day.

The biggest thing is that there's a better lurch factor from idle to acceleration that is pretty noticeable and make the changes worthwhile.

I've noticed a 3-5 mpg fuel consumption reduction over the last 3 weeks since I've made the changes, but that's most likely because I've been pushing it harder at every opportunity.

I'm going back to stock for the next few weeks to see if it's all in my head or the adaptive engine/transmission management and then plan on trying something more aggressive.

I'll keep you posted!

How much overlap is there between lemmewinks and what a chip resets? Anyone know?

is most likely me driving like I stole it since I've made the changes.

You must really get on the loud pedal to get 11.5 mpg!

crank the timing to 17 degrees.. up the fueling 10% and up the idle torque to 90. Then come talk to me.. that's where the serious power is. Have you even checked your correction factors? Do you even know what CF factors the 4.2 motor runs and where it shouldn't be before you start pinging?

Those settings are a big jump from the ones I've tried. Did you log the results & what other changes did you make? Intake/Exhaust/etc?

I'm very interested in your setup to get a little more pep from the fam sedan.

PS - Come talk tuning to me when you can pull 192hp/liter on street gas and get 11.8 1/4 mile times. 480hp/525lb-ft torque -- '86 951, My other car.

Are you suggesting to add 17 deg of additional advance ?!

Under full load, the ignition timing of my S8 motor runs at approx 18 deg of advance, which agrees well with my Performence Trends Model of the 4.2L motor that says 17-18 deg is optimum for maximum HP.

BTW: Under light steady load (highway cruising at 73 mph), ignition timing is actually advanced to 27 deg ... I assume to allow more time for complete compustion and reduced exhaust emissions.

gobs ahead of the A6 4.2's motor. =))) You also utilize a different intake manifold that allows for more efficiency in the intake stroke. At WOT on the freeway, the stock 4.2 barely runs 3 degrees of timing... so with the tweaks, I was pushing about 20 degrees of timing. As you can see, it's far from what the S8 runs. =)

threshold number of whether your car is going to hit the knock sensor and start pre detonating. You can log the CF factors, i forgot which logging channels they were, let me find out for you and i'll post back to this topic. You'll find that with my settings, you will get so much more top end, you will noticed a BIG difference. =))) Just be careful, as our transmissions can not handle that kind of power over a length of time. I blew my tranny! But then again, doing 2nd gear pulls everywhere i go on the freeway is not exactly healthy either. =P

OH btw.. regarding your 951.. SWEET. I have a buddy who tracks his 951 and has put out similar numbers. =) Another friend of mine who does his own home brew tuning on his B5 S4 (which I have helped on numerous occassions) runs high 11s and is in the 500 wheel hp range... so I too know a few things. =P

Hello everyone....great forum. I have a 2001 A6 4.2 and am looking for the optimal Lemmiwinks settings and any pointers anyone may have. Please provide me with reliable settings as I dont want to ruin my motor :)

Also are there any settings that will help with the lazy shifting transmission or must I get a chip?

Thanks,
RSD
