Anyone know???? I wouldn't mind throwin in a set and putting the car on a dyno before and after. Has anyone guinea pigged this besides mere speculation?

Balanced injectors? Highflow fuel pump? Software (custom one-off tuning would be necessary).

$250-ish ebay, $350 Ford dealer prices. They're made by Bosch and fit into the 2.7t/V6s no problem, and are most likely bigger than what is stock in the 4.2. Given that it is all Bosch, it should just fit/screw in. No one has burned the cash to try it, yet.

Then you'd have to tweak the computer yourself using a tool called 'lemmiwinks' -- since we really are shoving a gerbil up our car's tailpipe ;)

Gonna have to put some money together for some additional expenses in case stuff should go wrong, because as they say, "**** Happens!"

If you want to make power on a non-turbo engine, you need to start thinking about airflow.

These cars are designed to be quiet and have a flat torque curve at the expense of ultimate power. Before you add bigger injectors, you need:
bigger exhaust
port/polish heads
better intake

The stock injectors have enough reserve to add a little more fuel with computer tweaks. After that, it's just running rich and wasting fuel.

Without going turbo or super charger, the killer setup on the 4.2 would involve all of the above stuff plus cams and a totally new intake manifold similar to the Ferrari or BMW M log style intake with internal air horns. That would push real horsepower to about 420 max with a penalty at the bottom end of course.

The variable cam timing on these engines is pretty lame compared to the BMW double vanos system. Otherwise, they would be making 400hp right out of the box.

I know a good machinist in Elmsford, NY and you might be able to convince Crane to make a custom grind for you.

lemmiwinks can alter the base fuel maps and you can increase the fuel under load... that would be my first approach.. and if that doesn't give you the "gains' that you want... 440 INJECTOR GREEN TOPS!! HEHE. =)
