We've had a lot of chat lately on the A8 forum about turbo/supercharging the existing V8 to get RS6-like performance. I'm trying to apply what I've learned by being an intellectual leech in the S4 forum and applying the planning and thought that's going into my S4's stage-3 setup. With those lessons learned, we could do a lot with the A8 and S8 or any 4.2L based ride (B6 S4, 4.2L A6.)
After my wife is done with her A8 and we get her another car I can tinker on the A8.

It would be neat if we could come up with a "stage-1" type deal for A8s/S8s abusing Lemmiwinks. More aggressive timing, mixture, etc.
What size/flow fuel injectors do the 4.2Ls take? The 2.7Ls in the S4 can be ugpraded pretty easily to the Ford Lightning's 42lb/hr injectors... it's all made by Bosch! There has to be programming to take advantage of this (and in the S4's case, bigger turbos demand the extra gas) but even in a naturally aspirated system there are good HP gains to be made from larger injectors alone. I know that a lot of Chevy guys will do that in newer Corvettes.... invest in bigger injectors and then tweak the ECU.... it is a possibility...
Also maybe get some comparisons of different aftermarket exhaust setups. Over on the A8/S8 forum SvenS8 posted a SWEET dual exhaust setup and the sound from PaulW's A8 is fantastic.
The 4.2L is the base for the RS6 and for some Lambo model (I think.) If they can tune the snot out of it, so can we, right?
