I have misfires only when I put the engine under extreme throttle load and boost. The misfire hits then the engine settles and keeps climbing to the redline. It will only happen when I crown it in 2nd gear and up. First winds out too soon.

The Vag showed cylinder 6 misfire so I swapped the coli pack to cylinder 5. I tested it right away and got misfire on 5. Great I thought replace the coil and be done.

Today I tested again just to make sure before I went and got the coil. Now it registers P0300 multiple cylinders misfire detected.........

Help, it's not the coil is it? My tester only shows the code, no option to dig deeper. Would the AUid garage be able to pull more info with their machine?

Will get plugs this week. Are you serious about the gas cap? can you explain a little?

Cheers

well, when I got home, I decided to check codes (don't remember why) and I found that I had multiple misfires - it looked like the codes would never stop. Anyway, put the gas cap on and I was fine after that. Maybe your tank could have a leak? Do you actually feel the misfires or does the vagcom tell you that they are there?

I had a very similar problem to this recently, it turned out to be the rubber boots between the coils and plugs.

Thanks to everyone who replied, it was the plugs. Put in new irridiums and problem is gone and I'm screaming again. How long are these turbos going to last me???
