I'm considering an '02 A6 2.7T 6sp at Luxury Motors in Hoffman Estates. As I am in Colorado, I'm trying to determine whether the car has the sport package. I don't necessarily think that the dealer's rep (Frank) is trying to be sleezy, just not sure he really knows one way or the other.
I first ran across it on Auto Trader where it was described as having the sport package, but the dealer's description is silent on it and I want to make absolutely certain. Looking at their pics, it looks like it's sitting kinda high for a sport.
At this point, I'm having him look closely at the front brake calipers to see if they have 4 pads or 2 pads each. My understanding is that the sport package included larger front brakes with 4 pads ea, but not even sure about that any more.
Some of you can likely tell just by looking at the pic.
Also, this is the car I'm looking for, with the sport package. If it doesn't have it, how big of a deal is it. In other words, is it possible I'd be better off making my own mods to a non-sport?
All input much appreciated,
