View Full Version : Cheers to the 2.7T forum. Let's be careful out there... dscottjr 11-02-2004, 07:58 AM

02a62.7t6spd_madman 11-02-2004, 09:46 AM Imolavirus@BuehnEngineering 11-02-2004, 02:23 PM VR_Life 11-04-2004, 01:26 AM dscottjr 11-15-2004, 11:58 AM oil pump over pressure and valve float followed by crunch. Water pump, timing belt, tensioner all looked fine. No damage to turbos. No FOD in ics. It was a very strange occurence, indeed. The oilpump over pressure problem was supposed to be corrected on the 2.7t with an internal pressure release valve integrated into the oil pump. Although the valve tested properly outside the vehicle, it 'could' have failed in one cycle and not the next. I've had discussions with about every known 2.7t 'expert' in this country and even talked to cosworth. No one has seen this occure before. Occurred not long after startup at around 2600-2700 rpm.
