I can see that engine and the 4.2TDI going to the US, we understand the power/economy factors of owning a diesel here in the UK.
Fuel economy of mine (4.2TDI) is 32MPG and it's not run-in yet.

It is well known that all current Audi TDIs do not meet all US States' emissions regulations. They are currently developing the first TDI to do so - expect 3.0TDI first as it has most applications across the model range. 2008 or 2009 model years will be the date.
