Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the 2.8 engine.

I've done searching on this forum regarding the 2.8's powerband. It seems as though I should be feeling a flat spot between 3.5-4K rpms. I'm not feeling that flat spot but I am feeling a noticable flatspot (the engine revs, but it doesn't pull as hard as though the TQ curve is falling but HP is flat as its still accelerating at the same pace) in the powerband at about 4.5K and it last a good 1-1.5K rpm higher but then picks up again near 6K rpm. Is this normal? Should I be checking my Variable Intake Manifold mechanism? I've searched for 2.8 30valve dyno's but its hard to search through every one of those post as most of them are asking where or how to dyno a quattro.

Ok, I found a 30valve dyno on an A6, and it looks as though it picks up right when it switches to the secondaries at 4,500rpm. Im not feeling this rise at all so now I'm really starting to suspect that something is wrong with my actuator arm. Is there a better and more informative (clear) directions on how to check the system than whats given on audizine's online manual?

Thanks for the dyno. I've written what I've done to check if my IMT was working. It wasn't functioning correctly, which is why I felt a flat spot from 4,500-6,000rpm where the car reved slow, felt strained and slow, not what a 30valver should be feeling.

Here is the link for how I tested this: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54539

do you have an air filter or cai. I feel the same way but the giac chip should solve the "flatness" problem.
