Well I was sure a new coolant temp sensor was going to fix my overheating problem. On the climate control the coolant temp reading would max at 90c and stay there exactly, but the needle would rize hotter. So I thought the temp sensor was malfuntioning and couldn't read over 90c. Well I put in a new sensor today(behing passenger cyl. head). I bled the system till coolant came out both of the bleeder holes. And the car is still doing the exact same thing. No matter how long I leave the car idling the aux fan does not turn on. But will turn on with the A/C, although it will not bring the temp needle on back to normal. Do I trust the needle or the climate control readout of the temp? I'm going to vagcom it to see if the meas. blocks show the same coolant temp.

Have you replaced your micro filter... Micro filter if loaded with debris can limit radiator fan oxygen to breathe... If that makes sense, just a thought...

he speaks of teh climate control because of it's ability to become a diagnosis computer readout, telling you the various (and numerous)sensors reading about the car. Haven't ever actually done it (yet) but there is a writeup about it somewhere...

You might want to clean out the side of the rad, they build up with debris. This usually contributes to an overheating problem. I cleaned mine out when replacing the TB/WP on our 30v, made a huge difference. Good luck.
