What other bolt-on exhausts are available for this motor?

View Full Version : Will Stebro's A4 2.8 cat back work for on the A6 2.8? ArtsA6Q 10-27-2004, 10:00 AM What other bolt-on exhausts are available for this motor? My search for this critical part has yielded nothing. A4X4 10-28-2004, 05:22 AM If the exhaust channels in the A6 are as tight as the A4, I think you'll need something specific to the car. To give you some perspective, the Milltek system I'm using was supposidly made specifically for the A4 2.8. Some people have had them fit (though I have yet to see a picture of one fitting right) and some haven't. The fit on mine was so bad that the pipes had to hang beneith the channels, came within 1/2 inch of the lower control arm and never aligned in the rear valance. The result was having the system chopped and welded in several places (see my pic poster) for proper fitment. I wouldn't even want to guess at the difficulty you would experience going from an A4 system to an A6. If I were you, I'd consider getting a custom system from a good exhaust shop, using the diameter and tip style from the system you like on the A4. It'll cost less than making an expensive cat back system fit something it wasn't made for. Amos 2.8whine 10-28-2004, 11:51 AM I couldnt imagine it would, completely different exhaust paths. If i'm not mistaken the A6 has duals, unless they had a model without it and the A4 has a single path after a Y pipe.. Brullen makes a system for your car, look for brullen dist on the net, I found a few with good prices. |
