Anybody know anything about high flow cats for the 30v 2.8? I've seen some suggestions about custom setups using parts from older Audis, but I'd like to know if there is a company that makes one.

View Full Version : High-Flow Cat BHase 10-27-2004, 09:52 AM Anybody know anything about high flow cats for the 30v 2.8? Just find a company that uses metal cores, the cheap stuff is ceramic. BHase 10-27-2004, 11:08 AM I don't see it offered on their website. How much is "expensive", btw? And how did you find out about it? Ben 2.8whine 10-27-2004, 11:41 AM Yeah. I'm actually waiting to hear back from those slow canadians about the system I ordered. I ordered a system to mate up to the headers I'm going to be installing next year, so I needed some extra pipe, cats, flanges, etc.. Dan told me they sell cats that I can use, metal core, 100weave I believe, but they are like 390 apiece but that includes test pipes too I guess. I got a cheaper quote when he priced the whole shebang but still thats expensive I think. Stebro's C.S. absolutely blows balls though, I told him I needed the system by Oct to start working on the car and everytime I call they blow me off again. I'm exploring other options BHase 10-27-2004, 11:59 AM I run a Stebro cat-back exhaust right now, and they were plenty slow getting that out as well; much slower than I've seen most people get their exhausts. But I've been happy, and wouldn't mind a cat to go with the exhaust. I'll be buying the Supersprint headers in mid- to late December, so I wouldn't mind getting a new cat in there as well. Are you doing custom headers or the Supersprint ones? Ben 2.8whine 10-28-2004, 12:42 PM Yeah i've heard good things about the stebro, thats why I want a full system from them with diff tips. Thats the part holding it up I think.. at this point i'd rather have them send the damn exhaust and get the tips i want welded at a shop. anyways Yeah as of now I'm getting the supersprint headers (no other option, custom is to much hassle.), although I might wait to see if another company actually releases them like lltek claims. I have the opportunity to get supersprint stuff pretty cheap, so if your serious drop me aline and I can see what I can do about getting them for a good price. |
